Image
size: 21" x 16"
A dolmen is a prehistoric, single-chamber megalithic tomb, typically made of two or more upright stones supporting a large, flat horizontal capstone, resembling a table, often dating to the Neolithic period (around 4000–3000 BCE) and sometimes covered by an earth mound (tumulus). These ancient stone structures, found worldwide, served primarily as tombs but sometimes had ritualistic purposes, demonstrating sophisticated ancient stonework and planning.
