T Coronae Borealis (T CrB), nicknamed the "Blaze Star," is a rare recurrent nova, a binary system with a red giant and a white dwarf, known for periodic surface explosions that make it briefly visible to the naked eye, potentially reaching the brightness of Polaris. It last erupted in 1946, about 80 years after its 1866 outburst, and scientists have been closely monitoring it, expecting another explosion (a nova) soon, possibly in 2025 or 2026, offering a rare chance to study stellar explosions with modern technology.
