The Manus Dei is a symbol of God the Father. The name is Latin for "Hand of God." The right hand of God refers to His almighty power. "His right hand and His Holy arm hath gotten Him the victory" (Psalm 98:1). The hand is pictured with the thumb, first and second fingers extended and the other two fingers closed. This represents God's blessing. The Manus Dei is surrounded with a circle nimbos and three rays to indicate the Deity. |
