An offering to our Lord

The cross is a symbol of the sacrificial death of our Lord. The green within the cross symbolizes His victory over death through His resurrection.

When Christ lay on the cross while it was on the ground, as His hands and His feet were pierced, His heart lay directly across the center of the cross. The warm greens in the center of the cross and the golds surrounding the cross symbolize the warmth of His compassionate love for His children emanating from the infinite depths of His heart. The golds symbolize the glory of His being.

The reds symbolize the blood He shed for our sins and His passion in the ultimate sacrifice He offered to God for the sins of His friends. Those of us who look to Him in awe while offering our lives to Him as our sacrifice are His friends.

The violets symbolize His royal blood line from King David and His infinite sovereignty over the entire universe.

Blue is the most spiritual of all colors because of its depth.

Several years ago I heard a sermon offered by a Lutheran Minister. The central theme of his sermon was that, we as Christians must rest at the foot of the cross while focusing our hearts, minds and souls toward Christ, our master. We must develop our love relationship with Him by turning our wills and our lives over to Him. That we must practice His constant presence by offering everything we do, no matter how trivial, up to Him as a love offering with the knowledge that; without Him, I can do nothing; without Him, I am nothing.

Blue was placed at the foot of the cross and is here symbolic of our steadfast focus upon God: You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast upon You, because he trusts in You. (Isaiah 26:3)

Beloved Yeshua, please accept my trivial effort in the design of this stained glass window as the only offering I am capable of at this moment. This offering is made to You with the full knowledge that, I didn1t do this; You did it. I am your humble instrument. Without You, I can do nothing, without You, I am nothing. Please continue to enter my heart and my life in a way that I can neither ignore nor deny You. Amen.
